Course Objectives

• To provide candidates with an understanding of pre-school education and child development, as presented in the context of the candidates? work experience in Singapore.
• To present candidates with skills and practical knowledge to facilitate lesson-planning.
• To stimulate and bring candidates? attention to the important aspects and value of their work in relation to their contribution to the future of the Singapore society.
• To inform candidates of the approaches in pre-school education, which provide for an interactive and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

• Curriculum Studies and Pedagogy
• Personal Growth and Professional Development
• Safety, Health and Nutrition
• Educational Studies in TESOL
• Supervised Teaching Practice

Admission Requirements

5 'O' levels with credit in EL1 or CPT

Program Duration:

470 hours – 320 hours classroom and 150 hours attachment Approx. 12-13 months with 3 sessions a week

Mode of Assessment:

Assessment by either individual assignment, group projects, class presentation and / or test
