The NCUK IFY is a 12 months full-time program designed to prepare students for study at undergraduate level at NCUK partner universities. Successful completion of the NCUK IFY guarantees students a place on an appropriate degree course in an NCUK partner university. One of the benefits of NCUK programs is its high progression rate – nearly 90% of students from NCUK programs have successfully transferred to degree courses in partner universities over the last 18 years.

Course Description

The NCUK IFY is a 12 months full-time program designed to prepare students for study at undergraduate level at NCUK partner universities. Successful completion of the NCUK IFY guarantees students a place on an appropriate degree course in an NCUK partner university. One of the benefits of NCUK programs is its high progression rate – nearly 90% of students from NCUK programs have successfully transferred to degree courses in partner universities over the last 18 years.

Entry Requirements*

  • Successful completion of 11 years of school education
  • English language level of at least IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
  • A fast track 8 month program is available for students who have year 12 education and IELTS 5.0

*Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents need to be at least 18 years old and above to enrol for the IFY. Male Citizens and Permanent Residents are required to have completed National Service for entry into the program.

Students complete FOUR modules as follows:

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or Key Skills (KS)
Plus at least three modules from the following:
  • Economics
  • Business Studies
  • Business and Management (Double)
  • Mathematics (Half or single module)

Assessment

A variety of assessment methods are used including coursework, essays, research projects and examinations. All final examinations are set by NCUK in the UK and are subject to external examination by examiners drawn from NCUK universities.

Duration

Standard Program – 12 months
Fast-track Program – 8 months

Course Fees

  • $6,955 for Standard Program; $5,350 for Fast-track program
  • Student Protection Scheme - $96.30 per Year
  • Registration Fee $214
  • Sponsorship Fee $321
  • Registration and sponsorship fees are one-off fees. Registration Fee is non-refundable.

  • The sponsorship fee is refundable subject to terms and conditions and is not applicable for local students.

  • Program fees are not inclusive of textbooks/ program materials fees, which are extra

  • From 1 December 2004, International students will enter a standard contract with AEC Business School. Students may request a copy of the Student Contract for inspection.

  • All international students need to take English Placement Test unless a TOFEL or IELTS result is submitted.

  • Should you require further language tuition before commencing your course at AEC, we offer an English Foundation program.

  • For international students, the following additional fees apply:

    • $20.00 Single Entry Visa (for visa countries)
    • $80.00 Student Pass Fee
    • $60.00 – $80.00 Medical Fees

  • All fees are in Singapore dollars and are inclusive of 7% Goods & Services Tax (GST)

  • The prevailing GST applies.
