About Malvern House College

Malvern House College is an educational institution based in London premised on teaching of English language for both English proficiency and for learning experience for non native speakers, they have three campuses in Piccadilly, Kings Cross and Bloomsbury with 7000 students.

About The Certficate in General English Course

We have teamed up with Malvern House London to deliver better preparatory academic courses in English – here in Singapore. It’s right if you need IELTS and TOFEL.
The program also offers comprehensive preparation for entry into AEC courses including the GCE ‘O’ Level examinations. Some students use it for entry into an English medium university college or for immigration into an English speaking country.

There are various levels from which you start from and can exit at will as shown on the left. Descriptors are given on the left with equivalent benchmarks for progression in the IELTS framework.

Admission requirements:

Students must be at least 16 years old at the time of application. All applicants must sit for a free English proficiency test. The result will determine the level the applicant starts his or her course of study.


Course Material

The course materials include extensive practice materials, in-class activities, listening and comprehension tests. These are used in a systematic manner to improve English competency to the desired levels.


Assessment

A variety of assessment methods including assignments, listening and comprehension tests, written and oral examinations are used.

Duration

Each level is scheduled for 12 weeks. A term test will be held every 4 weeks to assess the proficiency of the student. A student who is fairly proficient and performs well in the term test will progress up the levels at a faster rate.

International Students


International students who want to study full-time in Singapore must apply for a Student Pass with the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). Please check AEC’s website for more details.
