About the Program:

This program is a specially designed course to enable a child care assistant to play a valuable and supporting role in assisting the child care teacher in the classroom management and supervision of children.

Course Objectives:

This program seeks to prepare students to:

• Assist in the preparation of teaching aids
• Care for the physical needs of children
• Equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and competencies to play a more productive role

Course Structure:

• Principles of Infant and Toddler Development
• Safety, Health and Nutrition
• Environmental Design for Supporting Infant/Toddler Development
• Working with Families
• Infant and Toddler Curriculum
• Practicum

Admission Requirements:

Minimum Secondary 2 level education

Program Duration:

180 hours - 120 hours classroom and 60 hours attachment. Approximately 4 months with 3 sessions a week

Mode of Assessment:

Individual Assignment, class presentation, group projects and tests

Program Fee:

Pre-Certificate : S$1,337.50 (Includes GST 7%) Application Fee: S$165.85 (Includes GST 7%)
