Diploma in Business
(In partnership with South Lanarkshire College, Scotland)
The AEC Diploma in Business is a 12 month full-time programme designed to introduce students to a whole range of business disciplines at a higher level of study. The programme includes aspects of finance, marketing and management to facilitate an understanding of the role of business in today's commercial world. It is roughly equivalent to year 1 of an Undergraduate Degree.

Course Details
Upon completion of this program, students should be able to learn and conform to accepted academic practice and integrate into undergraduate study. Students should be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge to progress to either year 2 or 3 at undergraduate level.

Admission Requirement
GCE 'A' levels or 5 GCE 'O' Level credits (including English and Mathematics) or 12 years of school education or the AEC Degree Foundation or equivalent and have English language of at least IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (for non-English speaking countries).
Course Duration
8 months full-time.
Assessment
A variety of assessment methods are used including coursework, presentations, research projects and examinations.
Examinations and intakes
There are 6 intakes a year. The forthcoming intakes for 2009 are in January, March, May, August, October and November.

Medical Check:
Upon obtaining of approval of student pass, you are advised to make a provision of $100 - $200 for medical checks and visa required by the immigration authority in Singapore. The usual cost of the medical check up will be approximately S$60 - S$80.
Living Costs:
Students staying in Singapore will incur expenses of approximately S$600 - S$800 a month including transportation, food and housing (room sharing costs). This is an estimate and will depend on the lifestyle of the student.
- Registration and sponsorship fees are one-off fees. Registration Fee is non-refundable.
- The sponsorship fee is refundable subject to terms and conditions and is not applicable for local students.
- Program fees are not inclusive of textbooks/ program materials fees, which are extra
- From 1 December 2004, International students will enter a standard contract with AEC Business School. Students may request a copy of the Student Contract for inspection.
- All international students need to take English Placement Test unless a TOFEL or IELTS result is submitted.
- Should you require further language tuition before commencing your course at AEC, we offer an English Foundation program.
