Course Description

To arm and train students in operational management, marketing and control of travel related services. Careers in Travel and Tourism involve the sharing of customs, unique peculiarities/features and geography of destinations and attractions .to guests and tourists. The close interaction with tourists and travelers is suitable for those with are articulate, with a flair for meeting people and involving them with activities and events.

Entry Requirements

Diploma:
  • Pass in English Level 4 or equivalent,
  • Minimum 3 O levels or 5 N levels OR Mature students above 21 years of age with some secondary school education and working experience.
Advanced Diploma:
  • Same as in Diploma plus
  • Diploma in Travel & Tourism or Diploma in Hospitality Management from AEC or equivalent

Duration

Diploma -
The Diploma consists of 13 modules to be done in 4 semesters of 2 months each

Advanced Diploma -
The Advanced Diploma consists of 10 modules to be done in 3 semesters of 2 months each plus a one week stint at a travel agency for the GDS on-line system training and orientation.

The contact hours per week is 15 hours, depending on the module taken. The assessment of each subject will be based on 60% for final exam and 40% for presentations and projects.

Assessments are set by the designated lecturer and subject to moderation by the Academic Board.

Fees

Diploma
The total course fee is S$7,160. This is inclusive of course materials, and examinations. An administrative charge of S$200 is made on acceptance into the program.

Advance Diploma
The total course fee is S$7,000. This is inclusive of course materials, and examinations. An administrative charge of S$200 is made on acceptance into the program.
