The Diploma in Business is designed to introduce students to a wide range of business disciplines at a higher level of study. The program includes aspects of finance, marketing and management to facilitate an understanding of the role of business in today's commercial world. It is roughly equivalent to year 1 of an undergraduate degree.

The Advanced Diploma in Business is designed to further develop skills and knowledge in business, finance, marketing and management and prepare students for entry to year 2 or 3 of a business or finance undergraduate degree.

Admission Requirement

For entry to the Diploma in Business: GCE ‘A’ levels or 5 GCE O’ Level credits (including English and mathematics) or year 12 of school education or the AEC Degree Foundation or equivalent and have English language of at least IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (for non-English speaking countries).

Students seeking entry to the Advanced Diploma in Business are expected to have completed the Diploma in Business or equivalent and have English language of at least 6.0 or equivalent (for non-English speaking countries).

Course Duration

• 8 months full-time for the Diploma and 8 months full-time for the Advanced Diploma.

Assessment

A variety of assessment methods are used including coursework, presentations, research projects and examinations.

Examinations and intakes

• There are 5 intakes a year. The forthcoming intakes for 2008 are 17 March, 26 May, 4 August and 13 October
• Examinations are held at the end of each semester (for 2008 this is March, May, July, October and December)

Medical Check: Upon obtaining of approval of student pass, you are advised to make a provision of $100 - $200 for medical checks and visa required by the immigration authority in Singapore. The usual cost of the medical check up will be approximately S$60 - S$80.

Living Costs: Students staying in Singapore will incur expenses of approximately S$600 - S$800 a month including transportation, food and housing (room sharing costs). This is an estimate and will depend on the lifestyle of the student.

• Registration and sponsorship fees are one-off fees. Registration Fee is non-refundable.
• The sponsorship fee is refundable subject to terms and conditions and is not applicable for local students.
• Program fees are not inclusive of textbooks/ program materials fees, which are extra
• From 1 December 2004, International students will enter a standard contract with AEC Business School. Students may request a copy of the Student Contract for inspection.
• All international students need to take English Placement Test unless a TOFEL or IELTS result is submitted.
• Should you require further language tuition before commencing your course at AEC, we offer an English Foundation program.
