Course Description
The MBA program is one of the prestigious programs offered by the Birmingham Business School. The program is taught in the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mauritius. It is fully accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).
You must take a total of 8 modules of which 5 modules are core and compulsory. 3 electives may be chosen from a further 5 modules. Each module is designed to ensure that you are exposed to both the operational and the strategic aspects of management disciplines through the use of modern teaching methods. These include- action learning/ research, formal and 'live' case studies and computer assisted learning, and complement conventional lectures and seminars. As this is a classroom-based program, not distance learning, classes are conducted in intensive teaching periods.
You are free to choose the number of modules you take in a year, but normally a minimum of two is expected. The program is fully taught by faculty members of the University of Birmingham.
Upon graduating from the program, students will be awarded the degree parchment which is identical to that for the on-campus program.

Dissertation
- 10, 000 - 12,000 words : often in the form of an in-company project, but "desk" study if you prefer;
- A supervisor will be assigned to guide you with your dissertation.
Additional Information
Modules are taught intensively over an eleven-day period: on weekday evenings and weekends for a total of 45 contact hours per module. All taught modules are assessed by coursework (50%) and a final examination (50%). All examinations are conducted at the beginning of the following module, normally about 8-10 weeks after the intensive teaching.
Modules must be taken one after the other i.e; you are not allowed to take 2 modules at any one sitting. You must fully complete a module before going on to the next one. The norm is to take 4 modules a year.
Entry Requirements
- At least 24 years of age
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of relevant management/supervisory experience; or
- A recognized Professional Qualification with 8 years relevant management/supervisory experience
- Proficiency in English is essential
- GMAT is not required although a score above 550 will be an advantage
No exemptions will be granted. However, ACCA graduates or equivalent have an option to replace the core accounting module with an additional elective.
Duration
A minimum of 24-months and a maximum of 48-months.

5 Intakes per year. January, April, July, September and November
Course Fees
The total course fee is S$24,500 payable in 4 equal installments. This is inclusive of course materials, textbooks and examinations.
A registration fee of S$155 is to be made upon application into the program.
