Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level)

At the secondary level, pupils have the choice of three courses designed to match their learning abilities and interests. Pupils undergo four to five years of secondary education with different curricular emphases. Majority of pupils undergo the Special course or Express course while the rest enter the Normal course.

The Express course also prepares pupils for the GCE 'O' level examination in four years.

Whilst this is the structure of secondary education in Singapore, the ‘O’ levels has been the basic qualification from which students in Singapore hop onto further studies or embark on a career. It is advisable for students to aim at a pathway from ‘O’ levels to the various tertiary institutions/qualifications in Singapore before commencing on a rewarding career. A good ‘O’ level pass leads entry to POLYTECHNIC studies or ‘A’ levels - the target of both foreign and local students. ‘O’ levels also lead to various private courses leading to degrees at AEC.

Brighton is an established name in the ‘O’ level education and one of its centers is at JBM (JBM is the acronym the AEC’s new campus centre Jalan Bukit Merah).

Entry Requirements

• Students must have completed Grade 8/9 in the home country
• You may register as a private candidate if you satisfy the minimum age of 15 on 1st January of examination year.
• Student may enter up to a maximum of nine subjects
• Foreign Students are eligible (conditions apply)
• Brighton@JBM reserves the right to offer a suitable combination of subjects for each academic year

1-year (English foundation studies is an add-on of another 6 months)
