Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level)

The Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level (General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level”) programme will lead to an examination which is jointly conducted by the Singapore Examinations & Assessment Board and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. The ‘O’ Level certificate is an internationally-recognised qualification which is widely used to apply for further studies in Commonwealth countries and the USA.

The ‘O’ level examinations is a pre-requisite for admission into any one of Singapore’s five Polytechnics namely Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and Nanyang Polytechnic.

Brighton is an established name in the 'O' level education and one of its centers is at JBM (JBM is the acronym the AEC's new campus centre Jalan Bukit Merah).

• Admission to a Junior College (2-yrs ‘A’ level programme) or any one of the five local polytechnics (3-year diploma programme) under the Joint Admission Exercise (JAE)

• Eligible to apply for full-time jobs or Permanent Residence (PR) status in Singapore upon graduation from the polytechnic

Who Should Study the GCE ‘O’ Level Programme?

Students from any country with the minimum age of 15 years old, who intend to gain admission into the local Polytechnics or foreign institutions of higher learning.

Course Delivery

Conducted by full-time teachers approved by Singapore’s Ministry of Education, students will benefit from the up-to-date textbooks and learning materials as well as a specially-formulated curriculum developed in tandem with the education ministry and other international establishments.

Our students’ learning experience is enhanced by lectures, tutorial assignments, project work and examinations.

• Mondays to Fridays
• 9am to 4pm (Lunch from 12noon to 1pm)

Entry Requirements

• Attempted ‘O’ level examinations previously
• At least 15 years old as at 1 January of the year of examination
• Foreign students are eligible to apply (conditions apply)

Duration and Commencement

1 year from January each year

Examination

Between October to November each year (Registration opens from the 2nd week till end of March)
