At the Padang with Deen.

The 10 groups went to various places of interest including – Arab Street, Chinatown, Little India and Orchard Road.

The students were exposed to the various cultures as they wandered through these places. They also witnessed some local re- enactments of Singapore history that are not in textbooks. The students were also able to get some memorabilia and did some shopping in these places. It was a totally fun-filled, memorable day for both
students and volunteers alike, although there were instances where the students would get ‘lost’ in the evening crowds, other than that, it was a most exciting experience.

Then, on 21 May 2010 8.30pm, a few of the volunteers surprised them by showing up at the Changi Airport to wish them farewell. A keychain of Singapore was given to the students as a little souvenir from AEC College.  It was a very touching moment for all of us as they waved good bye while entering the departure gate.
