About the programme

The ACCA Professional Scheme is a highly relevant, targeted combination of study and practical experience in accounting and finance. The program is highly regarded and accepted throughout the world as a premier qualification that provides the requisite skills that employers seek. ACCA has students and members in around 170 countries. It also has its offices and centres in nearly 80 countries.

 


Entry Requirements

Professional Entry Route (PER)

  • 2 GCE A Levels and 3 GCE O Levels (including English and Mathematics) or equivalent
  • LCCI, 3 higher and 2 Intermediate level passes (including English and Mathematics)
  • Completed the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification for entry into Fundamental Skills of ACCAs Professional Examination.
  • Diploma from recognized Polytechnic

Note :

For Diplomas and Degrees from recognized institutions in respective countries, the appropriate qualifications need to be forwarded to ACCA for assessment with regard to entry and exemptions

Entry Requirements

GCE ‘O’, ITE Or Completion of High School (for International Students) or Mature Students
Candidates with ‘N’ Levels will be accessed on a case-by-case basis.

For International Students, your entry to the above mentioned program is also subjected to:
Approval by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and any other relevant authority in the Republic of Singapore.


Application Procedure

Students need to submit the following documents to find the eligibility for the programme.

  • AEC Admissions Application Form
  • ICA’s Form 16 & New V36
  • Photocopy of applicant’s travel documents.
  • Photocopy of applicants original birth certificate or other documentary evidence of Birth with both parents’ name if there is no Birth Certificate. In cases where a Notarial Certificate is submitted, a photocopy of the official Birth Document or other documentary evidence must still be included.
  • Educational Certificates & Transcripts. In cases where a Notarial Certificate is submitted, a copy of the Education Certificate and result transcripts must still be included.
  • 2 Passport sized photos.
  • Documentary proof of financial ability. (for visa required countries)
  • Bank statement/fixed deposit accounts/savings accounts

Duration:
International students will have to apply for a student pass to complete their studies in Singapore. Student must complete their studies within the course period of three and a half years.
3 years and 6 months
(Per semester 6 month)
Student pass will issue for 1 year

Student - Teacher Ratio:
30 : 1

Examinations and Intakes

  • Intakes at AEC will be held every January/February, March/April, July/August, September/October
  • Classes at AEC will continue for 5 months after every intake i.e. January - May and July - November
  • Examinations are held every June and December
  • Revision classes are held every May and November

Assessment

Students are assessed through weekly and monthly tests. Those who pass the monthly tests will be promoted to the next higher level.

Delivery Method

The lessons are delivered through a repertoire of lectures, class discussion, presentations, role-plays and experiential activities.

When to Register

A student can apply to register with ACCA at any time. However, there are two examination sessions per year, and in order to sit for a particular session ACCA must receive the students Registration Form by the following dates:

For the June examinations

Register at ACCA by 15 December of the preceding year
Register at ICPAS by 31 December of the preceding year

For the December examinations

Register at ACCA by 15 August of the same year
Register at ICPAS by 13 August of the same year

Examination/Assignment weightage:

Fully Examinable (Exam based)

The student must obtain three years relevant supervised practical experience in his/her employment to use the ACCA letters after his/her name.

Medical Check Up

Upon obtaining of approval of student pass you are advised to make a provision of $100 - $200 for medical checks and visa required by the immigration in Singapore. The usual cost of the medical check up will be at approximately S$60 - S$80.

Living Costs

Students staying in Singapore will incur expenses of approximately S$600 - S$800 a month including transportation, food and housing (room sharing costs). This will depend on the lifestyle of the student.
